Each cabin includes open, custom kitchen cabinetry in black walnut or poplar wood with granite counters.
Major appliances include apartment-sized fridges and oven ranges.
Small appliances include coffee makers, electric kettles, blenders, and microwaves.
Cabinets are stocked with dishes for cooking, grilling, and eating.
Each cabin comes with a full bathroom. This includes a vanity and vessel sink, toilet, and shower.
Eight towels are inside each vanity and more are available upon request.
We have plenty of table options indoors & out!
Indoors, each cabin includes a traditional dining table with 4 chairs or a kitchen island with 2 stools.
Outdoors, there is a picnic table (and coffee table) at each patio.
The central pavilion also includes 4 picnic tables and a dining/serving table with a total seating capacity of 34.
Each cabin patio has a built-in campground grill. The grills require charcoal (which may be purchased from Talking Water or picked up at a local store before coming up the mountain).
Each cabin includes an indoor electric fireplace (some wall-mounted, some freestanding for flexibility).
There is one smart TV in each cabin, ranging from 32-36".
There are 2 sets of indoor hammock hooks built into each cabin. Two hammock kits (hammocks, straps, and carabiners) are left for guests to use.
A private outdoor shower is connected to each cabin.
The showers include hot and cold water. Scalp massagers, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are in each as well.
Showering under the stars is one of the most fun activities on site!

Each cabin includes a deck and/or porch with plenty of relaxation/lounge options!
Each cabin includes natural stone patios. The patios each have social seating options, a firepit, and kiln-dried firewood.
At the center of the Songbird Neighborhood & facing out to the adjacent mountain is the Songbird Pavilion.
Picnic tables, serving table, benches, and Adirondack chairs allow plenty of seating options.
The outdoor kitchen includes cabinets, sink, and an electric griddle.
The firepit includes a campsite grill over the open flame.
We want to keep the crew entertained!
The tetherball pole, slide, and children's toys are next to the pavilion. Children's climbing equipment are by the laundry room.
We provide books and board games in the laundry room.
Prentice Cooper State Forest is next door (touches the southern end of Talking Water) & the gorgeous Tennessee River is a five minute drive away!
Our current (spring 2024) trail system includes "Billy Goat Trail," a1/4 mile trail down past the bluff line plus "Flatfoot Trail," a 1/2 mile walk to a blue hole on Suck Creek (1.5 miles roundtrip).
Future plans include a 2-3 mile loop down to the water, along it's edges, and back up to Songbird cabins as well as trails along the blufline. More information is coming soon!
There is marked parking for 2 cars each at Blackbird, Goldfinch, and Whippoorwill. Chickadee includes parking for 3-5 cars.
Additional parking for up to 4 cars is available upon request.
Each shower includes shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and all sinks include soaps.
Additional toiletries and appliances (hair dryer, curler, hair straightener) are available upon request.
The laundry room is located inside the garage. Guest door codes allow them access during their stay.
The laundry room includes two washers, two dryers, and a utility sink. An iron, steamer, and ironing board are all available for guest use.
Laundry detergent and dryer sheets are always in stock.
Routers are located in each cabin. The wifi names and passwords are specific to each cabin.
Every cabin as well as the pavilion includes a fire extinguisher under the sink.
Combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are inside each cabin as well.
Cabin layouts include two means of egress.
Front doors are controlled by private door codes.
Each cabin includes sleeping for 6-7 people. Traditional beds sleep 2-5, some cabins include sofa beds, and each cabin has 2 hammocks.
Extra sheets and pillows for the sofa beds & day beds are stored in trunks/closets in the relevant cabins.
Extra blankets are kept in each closet.
Each kitchen comes stocked with coffee, olive oil, sugar, salt, and pepper. We also provide one roll of paper towels, sponge, and soaps.
At least 3 rolls of toilet paper are in the bathrooms.
Extra cleaning supplies are kept under the kitchen sinks.
Necessities such as children's dishes, high chairs, cribs, bouncers, baby hiking carrier, and baby gates are available to guests upon request.
